Waynflete Lower School
Location: Portland, ME
Architect: Scott Simons Architects

Built to Passive House standards, this project required the demolition of an existing structure to clear the site for the new wooden building. A gut renovation was performed to the school’s oldest building on campus, an old horse stable, to match the interior of the newer addition. Proper planning and execution were imperative to maintain a safe environment for the students and faculty on the active campus. Being so close to the Portland International Jetport, Wright-Ryan worked with the Federal Aviation Administration to ensure a clear flight path while cranes were in use.
